Preheat the air fryer: Set it to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Hot baskets help crisp the potatoes faster.
Prep the potatoes: Rinse, pat dry thoroughly, and cut into even pieces about 1–1.5 inches. Dry potatoes = crisp potatoes.
Season: In a large bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Air fry: Add to the basket in a single layer. A little overlap is okay, but avoid piling. Cook for 14–18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until golden and fork-tender.
Finish: Toss with Parmesan if using.
Taste and adjust salt. Sprinkle with fresh herbs.
Serve: Add a squeeze of lemon or a light drizzle of ranch if you like. Enjoy hot and crispy.
