Prep Time5 minutes
Cook Time12 minutes
Total Time17 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound carrots (baby carrots or peeled whole carrots cut into 1/2-inch sticks or coins)
  • 1–1.5 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 tablespoon dry ranch seasoning mix (store-bought packet or homemade)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional for extra punch)
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for a hint of warmth)
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1–2 teaspoons lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the carrots crisp.
  • Prep the carrots: If using whole carrots, peel and cut into evenly sized sticks or coins, about 1/2 inch thick. Pat dry to remove excess moisture.
  • Season: In a bowl, toss carrots with oil until coated. Sprinkle in ranch seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, a pinch of salt, and a few grinds of pepper. Toss again until every piece is well seasoned.
  • Air fry in a single layer: Add carrots to the preheated basket in a mostly single layer. A little overlap is fine, but avoid crowding.
  • Cook: Air fry for 10–14 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Start checking at the 10-minute mark. You want tender centers with lightly caramelized edges.
  • Finish: Transfer carrots to a bowl. Squeeze over lemon juice, if using, and toss. Taste and adjust salt and pepper. Garnish with herbs and a sprinkle of Parmesan, if you like.
  • Serve hot: Pair with grilled chicken, salmon, burgers, or add to grain bowls and salads.
