Preheat the air fryer: Set it to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the bread crisp fast.
Prep the bread: Brush one side lightly with olive oil or softened butter.
This becomes the bottom so it toasts beautifully.
Sauce it: Spread 1–2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on the un-oiled side. Don’t go heavy—too much sauce can make it soggy.
Add cheese: Top with a generous layer of shredded mozzarella. Sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano or Italian seasoning for pizzeria vibes.
Layer toppings: Keep slices thin and toppings light.
If using watery veggies (like mushrooms or bell peppers), pat them dry first.
Air fry: Place slices in a single layer in the basket. Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the edges are golden. Check at 4 minutes; each air fryer runs a bit different.
Finish and serve: Let the toast rest 1–2 minutes so the cheese sets.
Add fresh basil, a sprinkle of Parmesan, or a drizzle of hot honey if you like.
