Preheat the air fryer: Set to 325°F (165°C).
If your air fryer needs time to come to temperature, let it warm while you prep.
Prep the basket: Lightly spray the basket with nonstick spray or line it with an air-fryer-safe parchment round to prevent sticking.
Open and separate the dough: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforations.
Add the filling: Place about 1 to 2 teaspoons of Nutella on the wide end of each triangle. Don’t overfill—too much will leak out.
Optional extras: Add a thin slice of banana or strawberry, a few mini chips, or a pinch of chopped hazelnuts on top of the Nutella.
Roll them up: Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle toward the point. Tuck in the sides slightly to keep the filling inside, and curve the ends into a crescent shape.
Egg wash: Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water.
Brush the tops of the rolls lightly. This helps them brown beautifully.
Air fry in batches: Place 4 rolls in the basket, leaving space between them. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Cooking time varies by air fryer model.
Cool briefly: Let the rolls rest for 2 to 3 minutes after cooking. The filling will be very hot and sets as it cools.
Finish and serve: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate. Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
