Prep the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 325°F (163°C) for 3–5 minutes. Lightly spray the basket or use perforated parchment to prevent sticking.
Open the dough: Pop open the can and separate the rolls. If you’re using the icing packet, set it aside to warm slightly so it spreads easily later.
Unroll gently: Take one roll and carefully unroll it into a strip.
If the dough tears, pinch it back together. Keep the filling side facing in.
Shape the heart: Bring both ends of the strip toward each other, coiling each side inward to form two tight spirals that meet in the center. Pinch the bottom point to create a clear V-shape.
This makes a heart.
Brush and boost flavor: For extra caramelization, brush the heart lightly with melted butter. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle a pinch over the surface. Press gently so it sticks.
Air fry: Place hearts in the basket with space between them.
Air fry at 325°F (163°C) for 6–9 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Tip: Check at 5 minutes; smaller air fryers can run hot.
Flip if needed: If your air fryer browns unevenly, flip at the 5-minute mark and continue 1–3 more minutes. They’re done when the centers feel set and the edges are golden.
Glaze while warm: Remove and cool 2–3 minutes. Drizzle with the icing packet or your own glaze.
The slight warmth helps it melt into the swirls.
Add toppings: Finish with chopped pecans, crushed freeze-dried strawberries, or a dusting of powdered sugar for a festive look.
Serve: Enjoy warm. The texture is best right out of the air fryer when the centers are soft and gooey.
