Ingredients

  • Frozen garlic bread (Texas toast style or baguette halves work best)
  • Pizza sauce or marinara
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese (low-moisture, part-skim melts best)
  • Pepperoni or preferred protein (ham, cooked sausage, rotisserie chicken)
  • Vegetables (sliced bell peppers, red onion, mushrooms, olives, jalapeños)
  • Grated Parmesan (optional, for extra savory bite)
  • Italian seasoning or dried oregano
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Olive oil spray (optional, for extra crisp edges)

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer: Set to 350°F (175°C). A short preheat (2–3 minutes) helps the garlic bread turn crisp quickly.
  • Par-cook the garlic bread: Place the frozen slices or halves in the basket in a single layer. Air fry for 2–3 minutes until they’re just starting to firm up but not browned. This prevents soggy bottoms.
  • Add the sauce: Spread 1–2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on each piece. Don’t overdo it—too much sauce can make the bread soft.
  • Top with cheese: Add a generous layer of shredded mozzarella, leaving a small border. Sprinkle with a pinch of Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  • Add toppings: Keep layers light so the cheese can melt nicely. Use thinly sliced veggies and pre-cooked meats. Press toppings gently into the cheese so they stay put.
  • Air fry to finish: Return to the basket and cook 4–6 minutes at 350°F (175°C), until the cheese is melted and lightly browned and the edges are crisp. Check at the 4-minute mark to avoid over-browning.
  • Optional finishing touches: Sprinkle with Parmesan, crushed red pepper, and chopped basil or parsley. A light mist of olive oil on the crust adds shine and crunch.
  • Rest before slicing: Let the pizzas sit 1–2 minutes so the cheese sets. Serve hot.
