Ingredients

  • Frozen meatballs: Any variety—beef, pork, turkey, chicken, or plant-based. Standard 1–1.5 inch size works best.
  • Cooking spray or oil (optional): A light spritz helps browning if your meatballs are very lean.
  • Seasonings (optional): Garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, chili flakes, or black pepper.
  • Sauces (optional): Marinara, barbecue, sweet chili, teriyaki, buffalo, or a honey-garlic glaze.
  • Fresh finishers (optional): Parsley, grated Parmesan, lemon zest, or chopped scallions.

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer: Set to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket jump-starts browning.
  • Add the meatballs: Place frozen meatballs in a single layer in the basket. Do not overcrowd. Leave space for air flow.
  • Optional spritz: If using very lean meatballs, lightly spray with oil for a crisper exterior.
  • Cook time: Air fry for 10–13 minutes, shaking the basket halfway. Smaller meatballs lean closer to 10 minutes; larger or denser ones may need up to 14–15 minutes.
  • Check doneness: Look for deep golden spots and an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for poultry or as directed on the package. If not there, add 2 more minutes and check again.
  • Toss and serve: Transfer to a bowl and toss with your sauce of choice, or season simply with salt, pepper, and Parmesan. Serve hot.
