Preheat the air fryer. Set to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the nuggets crisp quickly.
Arrange the nuggets. Place frozen nuggets in a single layer in the basket. Do not overcrowd. Leave a little space between pieces for air to circulate.
Optional: Lightly spray and season. A quick mist of cooking spray can boost browning.
Sprinkle with a touch of garlic powder or paprika if you like.
Cook the first side. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 5–6 minutes. Smaller nuggets may need less time; thicker ones may need more.
Flip and finish. Shake the basket or flip each nugget. Cook another 3–5 minutes, until golden and crispy.
Check doneness. Most store-bought nuggets are pre-cooked, but they should be hot throughout and read at least 165°F (74°C) in the center if you check with a thermometer.
Serve immediately. Toss with a pinch of salt while hot.
