Ingredients

  • Frozen chicken nuggets: Any brand or style (regular, panko, gluten-free, or shaped). Choose your favorite.
  • Cooking spray (optional): Avocado oil or olive oil spray for extra crispiness.
  • Seasonings (optional): Garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, or a pinch of cayenne.
  • Dipping sauces (optional): Ketchup, honey mustard, BBQ sauce, ranch, buffalo sauce, or sriracha mayo.
  • Fresh add-ons (optional): Lemon wedges, chopped parsley, or grated Parmesan.

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer. Set to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the nuggets crisp quickly.
  • Arrange the nuggets. Place frozen nuggets in a single layer in the basket. Do not overcrowd. Leave a little space between pieces for air to circulate.
  • Optional: Lightly spray and season. A quick mist of cooking spray can boost browning. Sprinkle with a touch of garlic powder or paprika if you like.
  • Cook the first side. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 5–6 minutes. Smaller nuggets may need less time; thicker ones may need more.
  • Flip and finish. Shake the basket or flip each nugget. Cook another 3–5 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  • Check doneness. Most store-bought nuggets are pre-cooked, but they should be hot throughout and read at least 165°F (74°C) in the center if you check with a thermometer.
  • Serve immediately. Toss with a pinch of salt while hot. Plate with your favorite dips and sides.
