Ingredients

  • English muffins: Plain or whole wheat, split in half.
  • Pizza sauce: Jarred or homemade marinara works.
  • Shredded mozzarella: Low-moisture for best melt and less sogginess.
  • Olive oil: Optional, for brushing to boost crispiness.
  • Dried oregano or Italian seasoning: For classic pizza flavor.
  • Salt and black pepper: To taste.
  • Toppings (choose your favorites): Pepperoni, cooked sausage, or diced ham
  • Sliced bell peppers, red onion, mushrooms
  • Black olives, jalapeños, pineapple
  • Fresh basil or parsley (add after cooking)
  • Grated Parmesan or crushed red pepper for finishing
  • Nonstick spray or parchment liner: Optional, to prevent sticking.

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer. Set it to 375°F (190°C) for 3–4 minutes. A hot basket ensures a crisp base.
  • Prep the muffins. Split the English muffins with a fork for a better texture. Lightly brush cut sides with olive oil or spray for extra crunch.
  • Toast the bases (optional but recommended). Air fry the plain muffin halves, cut side up, for 2–3 minutes until the surface is lightly crisp. This step helps prevent sogginess.
  • Add sauce. Spread about 1 to 1½ tablespoons of pizza sauce on each half. Don’t overdo it—too much sauce makes them soggy.
  • Layer cheese and toppings. Sprinkle a generous layer of mozzarella, then add your chosen toppings. Keep toppings in a single layer so they cook evenly.
  • Air fry. Arrange pizzas in a single layer in the basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 4–6 minutes, until cheese is melted and the edges are golden. Check at 4 minutes; air fryers vary.
  • Finish and serve. Let pizzas rest for 1–2 minutes to set. Add oregano, a pinch of salt and pepper, and optional Parmesan or fresh basil. Enjoy hot.
