Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack for extra melt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise adds body and silkiness
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions plus extra for garnish
  • 1 –2 tablespoons pickled jalapeños chopped (optional for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt adjust to taste
  • 1 –2 tablespoons milk or cream optional, for a looser dip
  • Nonstick spray or a little butter for the dish
  • For serving: tortilla chips toasted baguette slices, pretzel bites, celery sticks, or bell pepper strips

Instructions

  • Prep the dish: Lightly grease a small, oven-safe dish that fits your air fryer basket (about 1–1.5 quarts). This prevents sticking and helps with cleanup.
  • Soften and mix: In a medium bowl, mash the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Stir in sour cream and mayonnaise until fully combined.
  • Add flavor: Mix in garlic, green onions, jalapeños (if using), Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Taste the base—this is where you can adjust the salt and spice.
  • Fold in cheese: Add cheddar and mozzarella. If you want a looser, scoopable dip, stir in 1 tablespoon of milk or cream.
  • Add more only if needed.
  • Fill the dish: Spread the mixture evenly into the greased dish. Smooth the top with a spatula for even browning.
  • Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes. Place the dish in the basket and cook for 8–12 minutes, until the edges bubble and the top turns lightly golden.
  • Check doneness: If the center needs more time, cook in 2-minute increments.
  • Every air fryer heats differently, and the dish depth matters.
  • Finish and garnish: Let it rest 3–5 minutes to thicken slightly. Top with extra green onions, a pinch of smoked paprika, or crushed red pepper for color.
  • Serve warm: Set it out with your favorite dippers. Keep the spoon handy—this one goes fast.
