Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). A warm basket helps the patties sear quickly and reduces sticking. Preheating usually takes 3–5 minutes.
Season the patties. If your Beyond Burger patties are fresh, pat them dry and lightly brush or spray with oil.
Sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. If frozen, season the top side now and the other side when you flip.
Arrange in the basket. Place patties in a single layer with space between them. Avoid overcrowding or stacking.
Use parchment liner with holes if sticking is a concern.
Air fry the first side for 5 minutes. Cook at 375°F. You should see light browning on the edges.
Flip and cook 3–5 more minutes. Total time is 8–10 minutes for fresh patties, or 10–12 minutes from frozen, depending on your air fryer. They’re done when the outside is browned and the center is hot and firm to the touch.
Add cheese (optional). Place a slice on each patty during the last 30–60 seconds to melt.
Close the basket to trap heat.
Toast the buns. Remove burgers, then pop buns into the basket, cut side up, and air fry for 1–2 minutes until lightly crisp.
Assemble and serve. Spread condiments on the buns, add lettuce and tomato, top with the burger and pickles. Serve right away while everything is hot and crisp.
