Preheat the air fryer: Set to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. A warm basket helps the bacon crisp quickly.
Wrap the dogs: Starting at one end, spiral a bacon strip around each hot dog, slightly overlapping.
Tuck or secure the ends with a toothpick. If strips are short, use 1.5 pieces per dog.
Season (optional): Sprinkle a little black pepper, smoked paprika, or a tiny pinch of brown sugar on the bacon for extra flavor.
Arrange in the basket: Place in a single layer with space between. Don’t overcrowd. Airflow is key to crisping.
Air fry: Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway. Thin bacon finishes closer to 8 minutes; thicker bacon may need 11–12 minutes.
Aim for deep golden, crisp edges.
Toast buns (optional): Remove dogs and toast buns in the basket for 1–2 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
Assemble and serve: Slide dogs into buns, add your favorite toppings, and serve hot.
